Educational Events

Each year, Innocence Ottawa hosts an Annual General Meeting (AGM) in honour of Wrongful Conviction Day to inform the community about our work and key topics relating to wrongful conviction. We invite exonerees and relevant speakers to join us in discussing the current issues surrounding wrongful convictions and the efforts being made to address them. Our next AGM is expected to take place in the fall of 2025!

October 9th, 2025 Access to Justice Forum: Indigenous Outreach

For this year's Annual General Meeting, Innocence Ottawa is proud to host an Access to Justice Forum: Indigenous Outreach. This special event will provide an opportunity to connect with Indigenous community organizations, justice-focused groups, and innocence projects. Attendees will learn about the meaningful work being carried out by:

  • Collaborative Justice Program

The gathering will include a prayer from Elder Dan Ross, drumming by Bure Odjick, and catering by Jolene Commanda of Commanda Catering.
